Budweiser Beer Contest for 1996 Olympic Games-Atlanta, GA |
Anheuser-Busch promoted the 1996 Olympic Games through a contest titled `Grab The Gold`. The Bud Light cans illustrated here (silver color) show a Mountain Bike Rider and the text is, `Olympic Mountain Biking, Youngest sport to ever gain Olympic recognition, Started in California, sport is only about 20 years old, Cycling dates to earliest modern Olympics in 1896, 100 years later, mountain biking makes line up`. Budweiser also produced regular beer (not light) in the traditional white color cans illustrating a track or timetrial racer, upon which the text is, `Longest road race: 198.8 miles in 1912, Greatest singles speed: 42.73 mph, Greatest tandem speed: 45.51 mph, Olympic road bikes can cost $45,000.` There is a 12-pack of Bud Light and one empty can of Budweiser King of Beers in the collection. Fat Tire Amber Ale by New Belgium Brewing Co., Inc. - Copyright 1991 |
The label and packaging illustrate a balloon tire spring fork bike. Their retail in-store displays usually include a bike or wheel. The text on the label is, 'Fat Tire Amber Ale's appeal is in its feat of balance: toasty biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness. Named in honor of Jeff's mountain bike trip from brewery to brewery in Belgium, FAT TIRE is still crafted following the original home brew recipe that Jeff brainstoarmed on this trip'. They have an attractive neon sign with the fat tire bike; Smity (Gene Smith) has one hanging in his home bar. The bottles are 12 oz (355ml) brown color. Jeff and Kim invite you to visit the brewery in Fort Collins, CO., which is within a 1-hour drive from Howie's home.
