c.1940`s VELOCAR (VELOMOBILE) in Hyde Park, London
This machine is propelled by the rider lying in an almost horizontal position. The principal of the Velomobile is to lessen wind resistance and to bring the muscles of the back and legs into action. Velomobiles were introduced in France in about 1933. The original model was a two wheeled machine. The British have produced this 4 wheel model. In the late 20th Century and into the 21st Century Velomobiles are being produced in Germany, Holland, USA and some other countries. There is an ecological movement pushing the use and development of these machines. See www.velomobileusa.com and Goggle `velomobile` for many other websites. [Item# England.03]

c.1935 VELOCAR Camionette in a Museum
I do not own this picture, it was kindly sent to me by David Hartwick who is researching and writing about the Nelk Motorbike (an American produced motorbike built on a c.1895 American made bicycle). It appears that this Camionette is motorized instead of being a human powered vehicle. See www.velomobileusa.com and Goggle `velomobile` for many other websites relating to velomobiles. Slick Auto Bike (or maybe a Velomobile or maybe just bike wheels)
I don`t own this streamlined auto with bicycle wheels nor do I have any information about it. The photo was forwarded to me by friend and bicycle aficionado, Steve Stevens. I have it identified as WW-II only because it came to me with the Ambulance Bike photo. This appears to be post WW-II, possibly the late 1940s or early 1950s. I will appreciate hearing from anyone who has any detailed information about this photo or the vehicle. [Item# WWII SlickAutoBike]
