The company was in Los Angeles at the time and it appears that their orders (sales) exceeded their current capacity. [Item# AdAmBicy1939-08]

c.1954 Playrite Bicycle Supply Co Business Card featuring Schwinn Bicycles (Original)
This is the business card of our family`s bike shop located at 221 East 6th St., in Los Angeles. This was the second store that my parents opened in L.A., the first being at 168 N. LaBrea Ave. My father operated the 6th St. store while my mother operated the La Brea store (which they sold in later years to Al at which time it became Al`s Bicycle Store). We became the distributor for Whizzer Motor Bikes, motors and replacement parts when the Harry Wilson Sales Agency decided they did not want to continue with the Whizzer products. Whizzer was one of the lines that enabled my parents develope the wholesale distribution business that later became West Coast Cycle. For a few years we operated the retail and wholesale business, after which we discontinued the retail stores to concentrate our efforts on the distribution side of the business. Everything Bicycles - : WHIZZER Motorbike (Pacemaker?): Bicycles-Classics (1940 to 1959)
more details
WHIZZER Motorbike (Pacemaker?)
Probably a Pacemaker with a spring fork, front expander brake and a rear wheel coaster brake. The spokes are 105 gauge, The chain is one inch pitch, there are two rubber motor mounts on the seat tube. The paint is rough (original) and the seat needs new upholstery-cloth (the pad is still good). The rear wheel has the sheath bolted on (the part number was #2973 in the 1950`s when we were the distributor for Whizzer motors and parts). This bicycle is no longer in my collection, it has been sold. I have decided to sell almost all of my collected bikes because I no longer have the space they require. [Item# Classic-19-Sch.03]

Everything Bicycles - : Whizzer Owners Manual c.1950`s (Original, not a reproduction): Whizzer Motorbikes, Parts & History
more details
Whizzer Owners Manual c.1950`s (Original, not a reproduction)
AVAILABLE TO SELL; A PROFESSIONALLY PRINTED REPRODUCTION REPRINT (it is difficult to differentiate between the original and the splendid reproduction). This is a 35-page (plus covers) Owners Manual published when the Whizzer Motor Company was in Pontiac, MI. and Dietrich Kohlsaat was president. Our company (WCCSC) was one of the retail stores selling Whizzer complete bikes and motors in the late 1940`s & 1950`s. We became the 11-Western States Distributor for Whizzer in the mid 1950`s. I have clear memories of receiving shipments from the factory and picking/packing orders for other retailers in the late 1950`s. I still remember some of the part numbers. I wish I had kept all of the literature and spare parts that we disposed of when we moved from our San Pedro Street facility to the new Watsoncenter Road facility in Carson, CA. See the picture gallery. If anyone can tell me the exact or close date of this Owners Manual I will be appreciative. [Item# Whizer O-M.1950`s]
