| Ink Blotters were an effective method of advertising in the early 1900`s. This blotter is advertising Apex Cleaners which had four locations. The cheese-cake picture of the gal on a bicycle is titled FREE WHEELING. The blotter bears the copyright of the Louis F. Dow Co.-St. Paul, so it is probable that the Apex Cleaners was located in Minnesota. | Louisville Cycle & Supply Co (aka LCSC) was a major distributor of bicycles and bicycle parts & accessories to retail bicycle stores in Kentucky and surrounding areas. The company was managed for many years by Zeldon Lipski, Howie`s friend and business associate. Steve Sacca was the general manager for several years. This desk pen holder is imprinted with the LCSC name and two of the brands of bicycles which they were selling at the time; Nishiki & Vista. LCSC was one of the Schwinn Distributors that lost the Schwinn line when Schwinn decided to take over the distribution of their products on a direct basis to the retailers.
