This is an advertisement for Yanagihara (aka Ukai) featuring bicycle rims. This advert appeared in the 1952 edition of the Japan Bicycle Guide on page 219. Ichiro Yanagihara was president during the time that Howie conducted business with this fine company. The name of the export manager slips my mind at the time of this writing but he was a splendid professional businessman and was very cooperative with Howie. UKAI is the brand name of the high quality rims produced by Yanagihara. The city of Gifu is located near Nagoya and is famous for the birds that dive for fish (Cormorant Fishing) and bring the fish to the boats on the surface of the Nagara River. Japanese women train and control the birds.
