There are a few different Schwinn surfboards out in the market place. Luke DeNitto acquired one. Here are a few photos of it while it is standing in Luke`s family/game room. The surfboard is 6-foot 6-inches long. Luke is making some brackets so he can hang the surfboard from his ceiling or wall.
The paraphrased story (from Luke) of how he acquired this surfboard

Howie.....Here is a reminder how this board came about...... When I was buying the 1959 Schwinn Jaguar from Eric, he showed me his Schwinn surfboard that was made for a show/convention in the 1990`s. I probably hadn`t seen this board in about 10 years. Its not often I get up to his place. He told me at one time he had two, but sold one. I asked him if there were any others out there and he told me that he had heard of a few 6-foot boards but they were very rare. After I purchased the WCC catalog from you learned about the 1961 Falcon San Remo offered in Flamboyant Bronze, I thought it would be great to have the Falcon San Remo, the Falcon Ordinary, and the 1961 photos of the N.Y. toy fair and your Dad all displayed in the same place in my home. I set out on Craigslist and eBay to find a San Remo. I was hunting for it like a pig goes after a corn cob in a mud pit. eBay had nothing, but I did locate a frame for $160.00 in Seattle Washington`s Craig`s list. After the frame was delivered, the owner told me of some other racing bicycles he was selling, but I informed him I was more of a Schwinn Vintage bike kind of a collector. He then informed me of a friend of his who had a Schwinn surfboard that he bought for his son at an estate sale many years ago. Naturally my eyes lit up. He put me in touch with the owner, but all I could find out is that he was told it was made as a sign / billboard / advertising that hung from the ceiling at a 1972 Trade Show. He had bought it at an estate sale for his son to use, but his son had no love for Schwinn`s and didn`t think it was cool. So it hung in his basement for many years untouched in the ceiling rafters. This guy is not a bike collector at all, so I have no reason to doubt his story. My Dad used to go to the Toy Fairs because he worked for a toy company called Colorforms. They were held in NY and LA. From what I can remember, the fairs alternated each year from coast to coast and from what I can tell on the Internet, the Toy Fair was in NY in 1972. My Dad may have seen this board hanging at the fair!!!!!
