The Schwinn Reporter publication was produced monthly by Arnold, Schwinn & Co starting in the early 1950`s. It was the Schwinn House Organ, full of information about the Company, its products, its Franchised & Authorized Dealers and the bicycle industry. The Reporter was written specifically for Schwinn Dealers and was mailed to them each month. Whether it`s Cruisers, Krates, Sting Rays, Paramounts or Collegiates, you can see the evolution of the Schwinn bicycle line and the company by simply reviewing the pages. Each Schwinn Reporter is an extremely valuable piece of reference material.
The Schwinn`sters written about in this issue include: Barbie Clark, John Paul Rogers, Geoff Hannen, Teresa Johnson, BJ Flynn, Dave Schiff, Bill Carnal, and others. The articles in this issue include: (1) Ballwinn Schwinn Cyclery-Mark Laytham, a hard man to bring down, (2) Schwinn`s assembly facility in Durango, CO., (3) Schwinn on 8 million Cheerios boxes, Schwinn`s BMX Team hook-up with Ike Hot Tamales, (4) Renown historian, Leon Dixon`s story of how the auto industry grew out of the bicycle industry.
