| 1963 April Vol-13 #4 The Schwinn Reporter |
|
| The Schwinn Reporter publication was produced monthly by Arnold, Schwinn & Co starting in the early 1950`s. It was the Schwinn House Organ, full of information about the Company, its products, its Franchised & Authorized Dealers and the bicycle industry. The Reporter was written specifically for Schwinn Dealers and was mailed to them each month. Whether it`s Cruisers, Krates, Sting Rays, Paramounts or Collegiates, you can see the evolution of the Schwinn bicycle line and the company by simply reviewing the pages. Each Schwinn Reporter is an extremely valuable piece of reference material. The articles in this issue include: (1) the passing of Frank W. Schwinn who was president of the company since 1933, (2) the passing of Ira Enmark a Schwinn Dealer in MN, (3) Pan American Games USA Cycling Team upon which Jackie Simes & Jim Rossi qualified to join Dave Staub, Mike Hiltner, Bob Best, Dave Sharp, Bill Best, Bob Parsons, Nick Van Male, Tim Kelly, Bob Tetzlaff & Gordon Rudolph. Keith Kingbay was Team Manager & Gus Husse was Team Coach, (4) the building and opening of the modern new Montrose Bike Shop designed & built by Bob Hansing (Howie`s long time friend), (5) H.R. 3669 US House of Representatives bill regarding FAIR TRADE practices, (6) Schwinn Service School attendees, and other Schwinn Bicycle related items. There are many more articles and people to be named in this issue; when time permits I will come back to it and embellish this posting. This issue is 6 pages plus the 4 page insert about the Congressional 1963 Quality Stabilization Bills relating to FAIR TRADE. The dimensions are 10 x 17 inches.
