| | This is a 28 inch 36-hole wood rim for clincher tire & tube (wire-on type). The O.D. is 25.5 inches, the width is 1.875 inches. I think that the current 700x35c and 700x38c tires & tubes will fit this rim and are still available at about $30.00/set (one tire & one tube). The color of the rim is: dark blue center, black outer with four gold stripes. There are several scratches to the finish and it appears that there are some tiny ivory color dots on some portions of the finish which could have been caused by the over-spray of painting nearby. There is a metal sleeve at the valve hole which is riveted into the wood; the stamping on the metal is TUCKER RIM, SIDNEY OHIO. There is also a stamp on the rim which appears to be the makers logo; it is the likeness of a rim with the words TUCKER RIM, SIDNEY OHIO. It appears that this rim might have been laced into a wheel as there are some very slight scratches near three of the spoke holes. It is incredibly straight for an old rim. |
