| | This pouch (a oversized chipboard envelope) was given to retail customers for keeping his/her bike purchase information, including; owners manual, warranty information, bill of sale, license number, serial number, model number, etc. There are some `safety tips` printed on the inside flap. The imprint is from Dennison Schwinn Cyclery. A little history; the founder of Dennison`s, Mr. George Blake (founded 1941) met my dad, Leo Sr., at a Bicycle Dealers meeting in 1947 and they became friends. My dad bought a bike shop at 168 N. La Brea and named it Playrite Bicycle Supply Co. George and my dad traded merchandise back and forth when convenient (it was in the late 1940`s and 1950`s). George`s son, Bill Blake took over Dennison`s in 1974 and was a good customer of WCCSC, Howie and Bill had a very nice relationship. To catch up on this information I phoned Bill (in Jan 2008) and we had a very nice and exciting chat; he is still just as nice and kind as I remember him, a true gentleman. I look forward to visiting him in L.A. later in the year. In addition to his bike shop business he also sells bike stuff on ebay; his handle is bikebilly013.
