AVAILABLE TO SELL, A REPRODUCTION SIZE 20 x 30 inches. This is one of the original posters that New Departure sent to Bike Shops for POP`s (point of purchase display). The dimensions are 16 x 25 inches. The text under the photo is; `This picture has been used for its news value only, and does not indicate that the publishers of this news bulletin condone or recommend the riding of bicycles with a passenger on the frame`. The text on the poster is; `Turning from the jaloppy of the 30`s to the bicycle of today, these University of Washington sutdents know their modern trends. In the bicycle they see a solution to their transportation problem-a solution that`s fun`. . . the end of the article mentions; `New Departure, the most powerful, yet lightest weight coaster brake, is the perfect equipment for the 34 lb. war-time bicycle`. Howie`s note: there are 9 bikes and 2 tandems in the photo. The tandems are ladies-front, gents-rear. On the single bikes, many have a male rider with a female passenger riding on the toptube crossbar, a very common practice in the 1940`s and 1950`s. Some of the bikes have a `rear swing-down kickstand`.
