A large bronze medal showing two racers on a race course. The diameter is 59.5mm (2 3/8 inches) and the thickness is 5.5mm. The reverse side bears the logo of Sugino Cycle Industries, the famed Japanese manufacturer of cranks, chainrings and other bicycle component parts. The founder and president at the time was Yasushi Sugino a very kind and passionate man. He was well known for his ability to produce bike parts that were demanded by the high end cycling enthusiasts and cycle trade; he was also a famous photographer specializing in black and white photos. This medal, which is quite heavy, is presented in a delightful wooden display box lined with a felt insert. There is a printed explanation included explaining how Sugino-san acquired the original antique medal and the fact that he only had 200 of them duplicated. See the picture gallery.
