Scott started his long bicycle career at Al`s Bicycle Shop in Orchard Park NY in 1978 at age 14. He moved to Texas in 1982 and worked for The Wandering Wheel Bicycle Store in Ft Worth as store manager. In 1985 Scott opened Bike Lovers in Arlington, TX as the store manager. He began collecting classic & antique bikes and stuff in 1986 and is one of the most knowledgeable collectors. His collection has grown to that of an enormous size and includes parts, accessories, sundries, paper (ephemera) and of course many fine classic & antique bikes.
Scott is the owner of The CABE, an internet web site with several forums for people to communicate about the hobby and obtain information about specific bikes or parts. Visit www.the cabe.com and register; it`s free, informative and enjoyable. The CABE`s (Classic & Antique Bicycle Exchange) intention is to have a web site for bicycle collectors of all types and to learn and share information. Founded in 1994, The CABE provides bicycle collectors with a forum in which to advertise their old bikes and parts (for the purpose of buying or selling), find the latest news about the vintage bicycle hobby, learn of the nation`s largest old bicycle shows, swap meets and auctions, and read about vintage American bicycles.
Additionally, Scott publishes a `newsy` magazine The Classic Bicycle News (aka CBN). It`s currently a 16-page newsletter full of pictures and good information about classic bicycles, vintage parts and FREE Classifieds `FOR SALE & WANTED`. An annual subscription is only $25.00 which gets you 6 issues mailed directly to your home or office in the USA. Subscribe or contact Scott at www.classicbicyclenews.com. See the picture gallery for some pictures of recent past issues.
Since 1988 Scott has worked for Bicycles Inc., a large retail chain of bicycle stores in Texas; he currently is the general manager. He has opened three additional locations (in Ft Worth, Arlington and Keller) and plans to continue the successful growth of this business.

1936 Dayton Safety Streamline. . .all original! One of Scott's 'best finds' as he roams the USA looking for bikes & stuff to add to his fine collection. Pictures of this bike, including close-ups of some of the special features are included in the Classic Bicycle News first issue (Volume #1 Issue #1, January-February 2009). Try to obtain a back-issue; it's worth the effort. This issue also features facts & photos of Colson balloon tire bicycles & a great photo of a 20x2.125 Hopalong Cassidy bike being assembled in the Excelsior Mfg Co factory located in Michigan City, Indiana on September 19, 1950. Howie's parents bike shop sold many of this model.

This picture is of me looking through a few of Scott's old issues of American Bicyclist Magazines. Notice the big stack of these magazines piled on the table next to the wall with the clocks on the shelf above.
