 | | Since Howie Cohen's passing, no items are for sale. | A post card with a printed image of a photo of Eddy Merckx riding on an Eddy Merckx brand bike. Eddy wrote a message (in Italian) & signed the original photo (he did not personally sign this post card, his message & signature are reprinted on this post card). I think the message translates into English as TO THE PRESTIGIOUS TUBULAR TIRE VITTORIA WITH ADMIRATION, 1971. It appears that Eddy was using Vittoria tubular tires or was co-sponsored by Vittoria at the time. I think this post card was distributed in 1971 or 1972, his jersey includes the team sponsor Molteni & the town name of Arcore. Arcore (Comune di Arcore) was the town in which the food manufacturer Alimentari Molteni was located. It is in the province of Monza and Brianza, in the region of Lombardy. Molteni was the sponsor of the team and also the name of the team, started by Pietro Molteni. (Thanks to Bob Freeman of Elliot Bay Bicycles in Seattle, WA for the detailed Molteni information)
