In 1969 Howie escorted five IBD's (husbands and wives) on a Tour of the Japan Bicycle Industry. We named the group 'The American Eagle KB Bicycle Tour'. We visited many of the bicycle component and parts factories including this visit to the Shimano factory in Sakai-Osaka. Pictured here, left to right are: Howie Cohen, Yoshi Shimano, Gillibaldo Teran (dealer in Ensenada, BC, Mexico), Bob Olson (Bob's Bike Shop in Glendale, CA), Keizo Shimano, Bob Hansing (Montrose Bike Shop in Montrose, CA, Len Hearst (Hans Ohrt Lightweight bicycles in Beverly Hills, CA), Zeldon Lipski (Louisville Cycle & Supply in Louisville, KY), Paul Hinkston (Rancho Park Cycles in Los Angeles, CA) and Hontani-san (Shimano). A truck with Shimano signage is being loaded by Shimano warehouse men with cartons of Shimano parts. |
