| | AVAILABLE TO SELL, I HAVE A FEW DUPLICATES! This is a heat-transfer that we applied to clothing (T-shirts, polo-shirts, etc.). The history: I have been collecting antique bicycles and bicycle memorabilia since the late 1950`s. In the 1970`s I realized that I needed a business card to give to people at Antique Shows and Antique Stores so they could contact me `if and when` they came across anything relating to a bicycle. I designed a business card with a man riding on a Star brand high wheel bicycle (big rear wheel and small front wheel. . .the opposite of the Ordinary high wheel bicycle) because the Star was invented and produced in America, and was the cutting edge technology of its time (c.1885). The cranks were on a ratchet system so your feet pushed down instead of around. I found an engraved image of the `man riding the Star` in one of my antique books and used the image on the business card together with the words EVERYTHING BICYCLES, hoping the recipient`s of the card would remember to contact me if they could sell me anything relating to a bicycle. It was successful because I was contacted dozens of times by sellers in the antique trade and was able to purchase `bike stuff` from around the world. I then used the name EVERYTHING BICYCLES when I decided to establish a company specializing in the BMX facet of the bike industry. |
