The proper name of the company is Yoshigai Kikai Kinzoku Co., Ltd., but the bicycle community knows the company better as Dia Compe. Founded by Kiyokazu Yoshigai`s father, the company enjoyed its major growth under the management of the brothers, Kiyokazu & Toshiharu Yoshigai, with Hideo Narita as export manager. They specialized in cold forging of caliper brakes and handlebar stems & other bicycle parts. This 1972 picture is of Kiyokazu Yoshigai (president) explaining some technical point to WCC`s Paul Hinkston (right) & Howie Cohen (left); more text & photos pending. Kozo Yoshigai (son of Kiyokazu) continues the legacy of this fine company even now in the year 2011. See the picture gallery.
