| There is an introductory letter dated August 1, 1929 from the then president of the Amateur Bicycle League of America (ABL of A), Emile Fraysse, who with his son Michael, operated a bicycle store in Ridgefield Park, NJ, specializing in competitive racing and serious touring bicycles and equipment. The Fraysee`s helped many `want to be` young bike racers during their tenure at the store. The author of CYCLING OVER THE ROOF OF THE WORLD, F.J.Davar, and his cycling companion, Herr G. Sztavjanik completed their trek on Raleigh bicycles, over the Andes Mountains at altitudes of 12,000 to 16,884 feet above sea level, The hard cover book, which is in mint condition, has 114 pages including many photographs taken by them during the trip. The dimensions are 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches. This book is now in the collection of John Loy who has several hundred bicycling books in his collection, some of which are available for sale. |
