The American Bicyclist and Motorcyclist magazine is a consolidation of several prior bicycle publications that were acquired and/or merged through the years. Ultimately, David Meyers purchased the publication and renamed it The American Bicyclist and Motorcyclist. David`s wife, Florence and son Stu were both active in the business. Each monthly issue is full of editorial and advertisements that chronicle the bicycle industry for the period. Howie & his family worked closely with Stuart Meyers for many years. Stu sold the publication in the 1990s and it is currently being published by The League of American Bicyclists as a magazine for the advocacy of bicycling & bicyclists (quite different from the previous format). Stu passed away in 2007 at age 83, may God rest his soul. This issue contains an article about Herb Marcus opening a new distribution company; Cromatic Trading Corp. The dimensions are 8 1/4 x 11 1/4 inches.

Page-14, an advert from SunTour (Maeda Industries) illustrating two of their rear derailleurs (Grand-Prix & Skitter) and the long handle (stick shift) control lever for the rear derailleur on 5-speed high riser bikes. WCC imported some high riser bikes from Japan with the combination of the Skitter & the stick shift. the plastic cover on the stick shift had a tendency to crack so SunTour sent replacements without delay. It was always a pleasure to work with the Japanese suppliers because they were anxious to please.
