This April 1977 issue of POPULAR SCIENCE magazine contains a 2-page article titled FLOATING-HUB WHEEL. The concept is that with the Floating-Hub, the vehicle (car, bike, wheelchair, etc.) would offer a smoother ride for the passenger(s). When the wheel hits a bump, its flexible spokes fold and the tire and rim are deflected upward. The wheel shown in the article was designed by John C. Moore, a British engineer.
