| The front page of the second issue of 1942; the January 14th, Vol-CIII No. 2059 issue. During these years the front pages are devoted to 'OUR POINT OF VIEW' which includes articles about current cycling information and advocacy. This is page number A1 of this current issue, but page number 19 of the current 6-months. The pages were numbered starting from page-1 in the first issue of the year and continued the numbering system until the last page of the June issue of the year (in case of the year 1942 the final issue of June is the June 24, 1942 Vol-CIII No. 2682 issue and the last page is numbered 493. In addition there is one more 'last' page that is referred to as a 'Supplement' page upon which I found the 'STRANGE BUT TRUE NUMBER 2' article by Wheeler. This article is similar to Ripley's 'BELIEVE IT OR NOT' but is devoted exclusively to facts and information about bicycles and bicycling. Wheeler is actually Frank Gayton of Leicester, England. Somewhere in this collection there is a stack of STRANGE BUT TRUE articles that have been cut out of some publications. |
